1. What are the effects of Finewa 60?


The active ingredient Fexofenadine in Finewa 60 is a new generation antihistamine, anti-allergic, H1-receptor antagonist. This is a long-acting antihistamine for the treatment of allergies, without a sedative effect.
The metabolite of Fexofenadine is Terfenadine, an antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist activity.
Animal studies have shown that it inhibits bronchoconstriction and histamine secretion from peritoneal mast cells in rats and has no anticholinergic or α1-adrenergic receptor blocking effects. Tissue distribution of fexofenadine was marked in rats, indicating that it does not cross the blood-brain barrier.
Moreover, many studies show that the drug has no sedative or central nervous system effects.
Finewa 60 is rapidly absorbed with a mean time to maximum plasma concentration of 2.6 hours.

2. Indications for use of Finewa 60


Finewa 60 is indicated in the following cases:
Seasonal allergic rhinitis. Chronic idiopathic urticaria and urticaria.

3. Dosage, how to use Finewa 60


Seasonal allergic rhinitis:
Adults and children over 12 years old: Take 60mg x 2 times/day or 180mg x 1 time/day. Patients with renal failure: Initial dose: 60mg x 1 time/day. Children from 6 to 11 years old: Oral dose of 30mg x 2 times/day. Children with renal failure: Initial dose: 30mg x 1 time / day. Chronic idiopathic urticaria and urticaria:
Adults and children over 12 years: Oral 60mg x 2 times/day. Patients with renal failure: Initial dose: 60mg x 1 time/day. Children from 6 to 11 years old: Take 30mg x 2 times/day. Children with renal failure: Initial dose: 30mg x 1 time / day.

4. Contraindications to the drug Finewa 60


Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity or irritation to the ingredients of Finewa 60.

5. Interactions with other drugs


With Erythromycin or Ketoconazole, when using Finewa concurrently, the plasma concentration of Fexofenadin will be increased 2-3 times. With antacids containing aluminum or magnesium gels, when used concurrently, Finewa reduces the bioavailability of fFexofenadine hydrochloride.

7. Overdose, missed dose of Finewa 60 and handling


In case of overdose of Finewa: Patients taking the drug need to have a prescription from a doctor / pharmacist, carefully read the instructions for use.
