Uses of Lactated

1. What does Lactated Ringer's solution do?

Lactated Ringer solution has the main ingredients:
Sodium chloride 3.0g Potassium chloride 0.15g Calcium chloride dihydrate 0.1g Sodium lactate anhydrous 1.55g Distilled water for injection just enough 500ml. Lactated Ringer solution has the effect of correcting the imbalance of water and electrolytes in the following cases:
Severe dehydration that cannot be supplemented orally, such as coma patients, patients who drink it immediately vomit. , the patient had a heart attack. Severe hypovolemia, requiring rapid fluid resuscitation such as: anaphylaxis, dengue shock. Do not use Lactated Ringer's solution in the following cases:
Metabolic alkalosis Heart failure Water retention is mainly extracellular fluid retention. The patient is taking the drug Digitalis.

2. Dosage and how to use Lactated Ringer's solution

Lactated Ringer's solution is for intravenous use, administered by medical personnel.
Dosage of Lactated Ringer solution should be according to the prescription of the treating doctor.
Some notes when using Lactated Ringer solution:
Must be infused slowly and closely monitor the patient clinically and biologically. Avoid using Lactated Ringer's solution in patients with renal failure, liver failure, hyperkalemia. Do not combine Lactated Ringer's solution with Phosphate and Carbonate to avoid precipitation. Lactated Ringer solution should not be used for intramuscular injection. Lactated Ringer's solution contains calcium. This solution should not be infused with blood in the same set of lines because of the risk of clotting.

3. Side effects of Lactated Ringer's solution

Currently, there are no reported side effects of Lactated Ringer solution. Tell your doctor or healthcare provider right away about any side effects you experience while using this solution.

4. Interaction of Lactated Ringer solution with other drugs

Lactated Ringer's solution with calcium increases the toxicity of Digitalis to the heart.
