PATIENTS’ RIGHTS

1. Receiving care and treatment in a timely and enthusiastic manner

  • Receiving complete examination/evaluation of health conditions and health care needs.
  • Receiving timely care and treatment, being monitored and cared continuosly.
  • Being monitored and cared safely, effectively and appropriately with their conditions and needs.
  • Participating in illness examination and treatment; choosing or refusing services.
  • Giving feedbacks on clinical and other services provided by the hospital.
  • Being respected and supported on pain assessment and management.
  • Choosing proxy/representative on their behalf regarding their rights and responsibilities.
  • Being prioritized per hospital policy and regulation.
  • Being supported in using medical services outside the hospital.

2. Having their personal values and beliefs respected

  • Being treated respectfully, fairly and politely.
  • Being respected regarding their personal demands (emotion, culture or religions).
  • Having their personal and clinical information kept confidential.


3. Being safe

  • Being protected against physical harassment.
  • Being protected from risks and assisted in keeping property.
  • Receiving services in accordance with international standards in quality and patient safety


4. Being informed

  • Being treated respectfully, fairly and politely.
  • Being respected regarding their personal demands (emotion, culture or religions).
  • Having their personal and clinical information kept confidential.
  • Being protected against physical harassment.
  • Being protected from risks and assisted in keeping property.
  • Receiving services in accordance with international standards in quality and patient safety
  • Being consulted thoroughly about their health status, plan of care, alternative solutions, prognosis and risks with/out therapies.
  • Being informed thoroughly about the estimated cost of treatment.
  • Being consulted in a comprehensible manner so that patients and their families can decide whether or not receiving clinical services.
  • Being informed about the physician and other staff responsible for taking care of them.
  • Being informed about prescribed medications: their effects and possible adverse events.
  • Receiving health education
  • Being guided on how to give feedbacks about hospital services

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES

  1. Providing correct information to the hospital and being accountable for the information provided.
  2. Following hospital regulations.
  3. Collaborating with medical staff in care and treatment.
  4. Paying hospital fees in full amount per hospital policy.
  5. Respecting healthcare staff and other patients’ rights.
  6. Protecting personal properties and that of the hospital as provided.
  7. Being accountable when refusing clinical services or disobeying guidance of medical staff.
