Can high blood pressure and slow heart rate be caused by thyroid disease?
Question
Hello, I am 25 years old, I have high blood pressure (average 135-140/85) but my heart rate is low (50-56). I do not use alcohol or stimulants. Symptoms I often feel palpitations, sometimes feeling a bit numb around the heart area. I had an X-ray of the heart once and it didn't show any stenosis or problems with the valves. May I ask if high blood pressure, bradycardia is caused by thyroid disease? Is the rate of young people suffering from this condition high? Thank you doctor!
