Answered by Associate Professor, Doctor, Specialist II Chu Hoang Van - Department of Examination, Vinmec Times City International General Hospital.
Hello,
To the question "What is the normal blood pressure?", the doctor would like to answer as follows:
According to the Ministry of Health, a person has an optimal normal blood pressure level if the blood pressure readings are measured. less than 120/80 mmHg, indicates that the person is in good health, has a regular blood flow, and an average pumping rate.
If your mother has hypertension and is being treated and feels good, the blood pressure numbers as you describe respond to treatment, the results are good. Your mother should still maintain the medication as prescribed by the doctor to maintain stable blood pressure and periodically visit a specialist for monitoring and appropriate medication.
If your mother has never had high blood pressure and her systolic blood pressure reading is 110-120 mmHg, this is a blood pressure number in the normal range. Your mother is not on medication. In addition, your mother should have regular health check-ups, measure blood pressure daily and re-examine when there are abnormal signs.
If you still have questions about blood pressure, you can go to a hospital of Vinmec Health System to check and advise you more. Thank you for trusting and sending questions to Vinmec. Wish you a lot of health.
Best regards!
