Hello,
With the question “What is heart palpitations with chest pain? , the doctor would like to answer as follows:
According to you, you are very young (born in 2003) but you have symptoms of heart palpitations, shortness of breath, headache, chest pain for 3 months. Your symptoms may just be autonomic dysfunction.
Clinical manifestations depend on the type of nerve fiber involved. Most polyneuropathy affects more sensory fibers than motor fibers.
Sensory disturbances: May include loss of sensation, abnormal sensations, or pain. The term "numbness" is often used by patients to describe loss of sensation, sensory loss, heaviness or weakness in the affected part of the body. Symptoms of paresthesia include tingling, stinging, “pins and needles” or burning sensations. Paresthesia is usually painless but can be uncomfortable for the patient. Dysphagia is an unpleasant sensation that can occur spontaneously or as a result of a stimulus and is usually painless. Motor deficits: Motor impairments that occur with peripheral nerve damage include weakness of the muscles innervated by the nerve. Severe nerve damage that lasts for months causes muscle atrophy. Muscle underutilization and atrophy are proportional to marked muscle weakness, typically in central nervous system lesions causing muscle weakness due to damage to the upper or pyramidal motor neurons. Most peripheral neuropathies are "reverse-dying" axonal diseases and the distal muscles are affected first. May have difficulty performing fine motor tasks. Weakness of the locomotor muscles can cause the foot to "drop" secondary to a weak dorsal flexor muscle. Patients may develop a gait called drooping gait, which is characterized by excessive flexion of the knees and hips when walking to prevent toes from hitting the ground due to weak dorsal flexion. Most polyneuropathy affects sensory fibers earlier and to a greater extent than motor fibers. Progressive motor weakness without sensory impairment is rare in polyneuropathy. Tendon reflexes: Loss of tendon reflexes typically occurs before the onset of motor weakness. Loss of tendon reflexes often helps differentiate peripheral and central pyramidal lesions, neuromuscular complex disorders, and myopathies. Autonomic dysfunction: Symptoms of autonomic dysfunction include orthostatic hypotension and syncope. Patients with autonomic dysfunction may experience orthostatic hypotension, with no or inappropriate elevation of heart rate. The patient has heat intolerance due to sweating disorders. The extremities may be cold. Common bladder and bowel dysfunction; Erectile dysfunction in men... However, to add to the assessment you need an electrocardiogram. You can visit a cardiologist for specific advice.
If you still have questions about heart pounding with chest pain, you can go to a hospital under Vinmec Health System for further examination and advice. Thank you for trusting and sending questions to Vinmec. Wish you a lot of health.
Best regards!
