How is acid reflux treated?
Ask
Hello doctor,
I have a history of gastroesophageal reflux, treatment has not been interrupted yet. About 1 month ago, I had signs: burning in the chest, long-term sore throat, self-examination, I saw blisters next to the uvula (acne particles move around the uvula), heartburn, mild fatigue after eating, stuffy one-sided nose (alternating). Because I'm in the blockade area, I can't come to the doctor in person. Doctor tell me, how to treat gastric reflux?

Hello,
With the question "How to treat gastroesophageal reflux?", the doctor would like to answer as follows:
The treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease will depend on the severity of the disease. The majority of cases are mild and new, with only lifestyle and dietary changes, the disease can also be improved. You should change your lifestyle in the following ways:
Avoid spicy, hot spices, coffee, tea, chocolate, mint, alcohol, tobacco, carbonated drinks, gas-producing foods. Do not lie down immediately after eating, dinner should be eaten at least 3 hours before going to bed. Use an acid-reducing drug (PPI group), first use the standard dose (1 time/day 30 minutes before breakfast), if symptoms are not controlled, double dose. For nasal congestion: drop physiological saline, if not improve, use Otrivin 0.05% or Nasolin...). If you still have questions about gastroesophageal reflux, you can go to a hospital of Vinmec Health System for further examination and advice. Thank you for trusting and sending questions to Vinmec. Wishing you lots of health.
Best regards!
