Is it okay to drink beer after 1 day of tetanus injection?
Question
Doctor, I accidentally drank 3 cans of beer after 1 day of tetanus vaccination because I was stepped on a lightning nail. Will this affect vaccine effectiveness? And how long before I can use beer again? Looking forward to consulting your doctor.

Answer
Hi,
There are currently no recorded interactions between the use of beer and the parenteral tetanus shot. The use of beer can interact with other drugs in the treatment of nail injuries. You can monitor more symptoms of fever, urticaria, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, fainting...and swelling and pain at the nailing site.
You can use beer as recommended up to 330ml/day when you have finished other treatment drugs, the wound is healed and there are no chronic diseases.
You can go to the hospitals of Vinmec Health System for more detailed advice.
