Is the cough with phlegm dangerously prolonged?

Question
Hello doctors, I want to ask that I have a cough with phlegm that has lasted from the Lunar New Year to now for more than 3 months. I have no difficulty breathing or swallowing, no fever. I have taken medicine and the cough has decreased a lot but it has not stopped completely. Sometimes during the day I still cough for a few hours, especially in the afternoon or when it is windy. Is this condition dangerous for me? Hope your doctor can help you.

Answer
Hello. You may have respiratory infections due to seasonal allergies, not excluding bronchial asthma. You should see an internal medicine specialist, measure respiratory function (if the doctor considers there are no contraindications to this method). Your condition is not dangerous. When the disease is stable, the child should be vaccinated against pneumococcal diseases (1 single dose) and annual flu vaccine.
You can do the examination and vaccination at the hospitals of Vinmec Health System or the nearest reputable medical centers.
