Adempas: Uses, indications and precautions when using

Adempas is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. These are dangerous conditions that, if left untreated, can lead to life-threatening complications.

Adempas is used to treat high blood pressure in the lungs, also called pulmonary hypertension. It may also be used to treat certain types of high blood pressure in the lungs caused by a blood clot, also called chronic pulmonary thromboembolic hypertension, when surgery is not completely successful or cannot be performed. Some products that may interact with Adempas include: Aminophylline, certain medicines used to treat chest pain/angina or high blood pressure (nitrates such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide), dipyridamole, medications pulmonary hypertension such as sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil; Stimulant drugs called "poppers" contain ethyl or butyl nitrite, theophylline.

If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as fainting or difficulty breathing, call 911 immediately or take the patient to the nearest medical facility for timely emergency care.

If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose then continue taking it as usual at the next time. Never use a double dose at the next dose. Talk to your doctor if you miss a dose for 3 days in a row.

Store in Adempas at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Do not leave medicine in the bathroom. Keep medicine away from children and pets.
Do not flush medication down the toilet or down the drain unless you are instructed to do so. When the medicine has expired or you no longer need it, dispose of it properly.
