Crotan drug: Uses, indications and notes when using

Crotan belongs to two groups of drugs: antiparasitic and antipruritic. Crotan is often prescribed to treat some infections, itching on the skin, especially scabies.

The drug Crotan (Crotamiton) is used to treat scabies. Scabies is a skin infection that occurs when the scabies parasite (scabies) gets into the skin. The patient's skin will occur intense itching, appear nodules, small blisters filled with fluid (pus). Crotan is effective in killing the scabies parasite that causes the disease and helps relieve itching in similar skin conditions.

Crotan should only be used on the skin. Absolutely no drugs. Avoid applying the medication to your face, eyes, mouth, vagina, or any areas of skin that are inflamed, rough, or oozing.
When using Crotan, you should pay attention to the following:
Take a bath before taking the medicine. Remove flaking, scaly skin by gently rubbing and then patting dry with a towel. If you are using Crotan solution, shake the bottle well before use. Apply a thin layer of cream (or solution) to all areas of the skin from the chin down to the toes, including the skin folds, between the fingers and toes, and the soles of the feet. It is advisable to cut nails short and apply medicine under the nails because scabies parasites often live there. Or you can use a toothbrush to get the medicine under the nail. Reapply the medication after 24 hours. Change clothes, towels, and bed sheets the next day, after each application. Bathing is recommended 48 hours after the last application to remove the drug from the skin. Note:
After use, wrap the toothbrush and throw it away. Do not reuse the toothbrush to brush your teeth because it can cause poisoning. Wash all clothing, towels and bedding 3 days before treatment and after each application. Wash in hot water and dry in a hot dryer (or dry clean) to kill all scabies parasites and prevent them from returning. Items that cannot be washed should be avoided for at least 72 hours. To treat itchy skin conditions other than scabies, gently apply a thin layer to the affected skin until completely absorbed. Repeat as needed, as directed by your doctor, usually 2 to 3 times a day. After treating scabies, the itching of the skin may persist for several weeks. Ask your doctor about other medications that can help ease the itch. If the skin condition persists or tends to get worse, contact your doctor.

Some side effects of Crotan may be: skin irritation causing itching or redness. If any of these side effects persist or tend to get worse, stop using the medicine and tell your doctor promptly.
Your doctor will only prescribe this drug when the benefit of the drug has been assessed to outweigh the risk of side effects. Most people who take Crotan do not experience any serious side effects.

Before taking Crotan, tell your doctor if you are allergic to the drug or have any other allergic conditions or your medical history.
During pregnancy, Crotan should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits of taking medication with your doctor. It is not known whether Crotan passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are breast-feeding.

Crotan can be harmful if swallowed. If you accidentally swallow this medicine, you may have symptoms such as: discomfort, burning sensation in your mouth (throat), nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, stomach pain, call 911 right away. .
Medicines should be stored at room temperature (15-30 degrees Celsius), away from moisture, light and out of reach of children and pets.
