Paracetamol (Acetaminophen or N - acetyl - p - aminophenol) is known to be an active metabolite of phenacetin. At the same time, it is also a highly effective pain reliever and fever reducer that can replace Aspirin. However, unlike aspirin, paracetamol is not very effective in treating inflammation.
