1. What is Bearnir?


Bearnir contains the main ingredient is Cefotaxime, manufactured and registered by Daewoong Pharm Co., Ltd - Korea.
Pharmaceutical name: Bearnir drug. Ingredients: Cefotaxime. Group of drugs: Belongs to the group of anti-infective drugs, antifungal drugs, antiviral drugs, anti-parasitic drugs. Dosage form: Powder for injection. Packing: Packed according to box specifications of 10 vials of powder for injection. Registration number: VN-14154-11.

2. Uses of Bearnir


Cefotaxime is a 3rd generation Cephalosporin antibiotic with a broad antibacterial spectrum, which includes:
Groups of bacteria that are often sensitive to the drug: Haemophilus influenzae, Serratia, Shigella, E.coli, Salmonella, P. mirabilis, P.vulgaris, Enterobacter, Haemophilus spp... Group of bacteria resistant to Cefotaxime: Pseudomonas cepiacia, Enterococcus, Listeria, Xanthomonas hydrophilia, Staphylococcus resistant to methicillin... Therefore, Bearnir is often indicated for use in cases such as: :
Patients with blood infections, meningitis, pericarditis caused by Gr (+) and Gr (-) bacteria, bone and joint infections. Patients with skin and soft tissue infections, abdominal infections, gynecology and obstetrics, lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, gonorrhea. In case the patient needs to prevent infection after surgery.

3. Dosage and how to use Bearnir


Dosage for adults:
Uncomplicated infections: Use 1g every 12 hours, IM (intramuscularly) or IV (intravenously). In case of meningitis, severe infection: Use 2g every 6-8 hours, IM or IV. Uncomplicated case of gonorrhea: Use with a single dose of 1g, IM injection. In case of surgical infection prevention: Use a dose of 1g, injected 30 minutes before surgery. For young children:
For children from 2 months old or under 12 years old: Use at a dose of 50 - 150mg/kg/day, divided into 3 - 4 times, IM or IV. For infants over 7 days old: Use dose 75 - 150mg/kg/day, divided into 3 times, IV injection. For premature babies and infants under 7 days old: Use a dose of 50mg/kg/day, divided into 2 times, IV injection. For patients with renal impairment with ClCr less than 10mL: Reduce dose by half.
During or after treatment, if the patient experiences severe or prolonged diarrhea, the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis should be considered. This is a serious gastrointestinal disorder, requiring discontinuation of treatment with Cefotaxime and replacing with clinically effective antibiotics in the treatment of C. difficile colitis.
If a patient using the drug shows symptoms of poisoning, it is necessary to stop Bearnir immediately and ask a loved one to take him to the nearest hospital or medical facility for timely and proper treatment.

4. Notes when using Bearnir


4.1. Contraindications to use Bearnir Do not use the drug for patients who are allergic or hypersensitivity to Cephalosporins, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. In addition, care should be taken in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillins, patients with renal failure.
4.2. Side effects of Bearnir In the process of using Bearnir, patients may experience some unwanted side effects such as:
Fever, hypersensitivity, eosinophilia. Nausea and vomiting, pseudomembranous colitis, abdominal pain or diarrhea, Hematologic changes. Dizziness, dizziness, hallucinations. Heart rhythm disturbances. 4.3. Drug interactions Similar to other modern drugs, Bearnir can also cause interactions when used in combination with other drugs such as: Probenecid, Fosfomycin, Azlocillin.
Drugs can also interact with some foods, alcohol, tobacco, stimulants... Therefore, patients need to consult a doctor, and provide a full range of medicines.
