Uses of Deraful

Deraful is a muscle relaxant that acts through the central nervous system. The drug is indicated in the pathology of osteoarthritis pain associated with muscle spasms. So what is the use of the drug and what should be paid attention to when using it?

Deraful contains Mephenesin 250mg, a muscle relaxant that acts on the central nervous system. Mephenesin acts on nerve cells, reducing excitability, leading to a decrease in action potentials of muscle fibers, reducing muscle spasticity. Deraful has systemic effects when taken orally.
After oral administration, Deraful is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract into the systemic circulation, but the duration of action of the drug is not prolonged. Peak plasma concentrations are achieved 1 hour after oral administration. The drug is extensively metabolised in the liver and completely eliminated in the urine.

Deraful is indicated for use in the following pathologies:
Spondylolisthesis causing pain with muscle spasms. Acute torticollis, acute back pain not due to trauma. Parkinson's with spasticity. Multiple sclerosis disease.

Deraful drug should not be used in the following medical conditions
Allergy to Mephenesin or any other ingredient of the drug. Patient has porphyria. Pregnant and lactating women should not take Deraful. Paralytic patient. Children under 15 years of age are not indicated for taking Deraful. Note when using the drug Deraful
Patients with a history of allergies, bronchial asthma, respiratory diseases should be cautious when using the drug because it may cause excessive bronchial dilation. Use with caution in patients with a history of allergy to aspirin. Patients with muscle weakness, history of drug addiction when taking Deraful should monitor muscle function. Check and monitor liver and kidney function before and while taking the drug for patients with liver and kidney failure. There are no studies to prove the safety of the drug for the fetus and child, so the drug should not be used in pregnant and lactating women. The drug can cause drowsiness, so it is not recommended for people who do work that requires meticulousness such as driving or operating machinery.

There is no evidence to demonstrate the interaction of Deraful with other drugs.
Alcohol, tobacco and alcoholic foods can increase the CNS depressant effect of the drug.

How to use
Deraful is in the form of tablets for oral use. Deraful is not indicated for children under 15 years of age. Dosage
Usual dose: 2-4 tablets (250mg) x 3 times/day. Depending on the medical condition, the dose can be increased or decreased according to the doctor's prescription.

Thus, Deraful is a muscle relaxant that has the effect of supporting pain relief, reducing spasticity in bone and joint diseases. Although the drug is easy to find, easy to use and gives high treatment efficiency, it is not advisable to abuse the drug because it may experience unwanted side effects for the body.
