Drotaspasm has the main ingredient Drotaverin hydrochloride - a smooth muscle relaxant, phosphodiesterase IV inhibitor.
Drotaspasm is an active ingredient with antispasmodic action through inhibition of phosphodiesterase (PDE) IV - an enzyme responsible for the breakdown of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Inhibition of PDE IV increases intracellular cyclic AMP levels, reducing the activity of myosin light chain (MLCK) and intracellular calcium (Ca2+) ions in smooth muscle cells, leading to smooth muscle relaxation. The Drotaverin component in the drug Drotaspasm is not anticholinergic, indicated for the treatment of spasms or convulsions of smooth muscles of the digestive system, biliary tract, heart and uterus. In addition, the drug also has an analgesic effect in irritable bowel syndrome, headache, primary dysmenorrhea.
Drotaspasm is rapidly absorbed after oral administration and reaches peak plasma concentrations 95 - 98% after 1 hour. The drug can pass into all tissues in the body, without crossing the blood-brain barrier, through the placenta and breast milk. After entering the body, the drug is metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine.

Drotaspasm is indicated for the treatment of the following pathologies
Renal colic pain due to kidney stones, ureteral stones, pyelonephritis, bladder spasm. Biliary colic due to biliary smooth muscle spasm in gallstones, bile duct stones, cholecystitis, pancreatitis. Abdominal pain due to spasm of gastrointestinal smooth muscle. Colon spasms due to constipation, irritable colon syndrome. Uterine smooth muscle spasms cause dysmenorrhea, threatened miscarriage, and uterine contractions.

Some cases should not use Drotaspasm:
Allergy to drotaverin or any other ingredient of the drug. Patients with liver failure, severe renal failure, heart failure with low ejection fraction are not indicated for the use of Drotaspasm. Atrioventricular block II, II on ECG. Children under 1 year of age should not take Drotspasm medicine.

Patients with porphyria should be cautious when using Drotaspasm. Patients with low blood pressure should be closely monitored when taking the drug. The drug can cross the placenta and breast milk, so the benefit should be carefully considered when driving or operating machinery, and should be careful when taking the drug because the drug can cause headaches and dizziness.

Usage:
Drotaspasm is prepared in the form of tablets with a content of 40mg. Drink directly with a sufficient amount of water. Dosage:
Adults: 1-2 times x 2-3 times/day. Children over 6 years old: 1 tablet/time x 2-3 times/day. Children from 1 to 6 years old: 1⁄2 - 1 tablet/time x 2 - 3 times/day.
