2. Dosage and how to use Ezvasten

3. Ezvasten . side effects

4. Ezvasten drug interactions with other drugs


Inhibitors of CYP3A4 Enzymes: Taking Ezvasten with drugs that inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme may increase blood levels of atorvastatin leading to an increased risk of myopathy and myopathy. Amiodarone: When Ezvasten is used with amiodarone, do not exceed 20 mg of atorvastatin/day because of the increased risk of rhabdomyolysis. Coumarin Derivatives: Ezvasten slightly enhances the anticoagulant effect of coumarin. Antacids: Concomitant administration of Ezvasten with antacid suspensions containing magnesium and aluminum hydroxide reduces plasma concentrations of atorvastatin by approximately 35%. Colestipol: When colestipol was administered with Ezvasten, the concentration of atorvastatin was reduced by approximately 25%. Digoxin: When multiple doses of digoxin were administered concomitantly with 10 mg of atorvastatin, steady-state plasma digoxin concentrations were not affected. Digoxin concentrations increased by approximately 20% when used with 80 mg of atorvastatin daily. Active monitoring is recommended when administering Ezvasten to patients taking digoxin. Erythromycin / Clarithromycin: Concomitant use of Ezvasten and erythromycin (500 mg x 4 times/day) or clarithromycin (500 mg x 2 times/day) increases plasma concentrations of atorvastatin. Azithromycin: Co-administration of Ezvasten with doses of atorvastatin (10 mg once daily) and azithromycin (500 mg once daily) did not alter plasma concentrations of atorvastatin. Terfenadine: Co-administration of Ezvasten and terfenadine did not produce a clinically significant effect on the pharmacokinetics of terfenadine. Oral contraceptives: Co-administration of Ezvasten with an oral contraceptive containing norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol increases the AUC values ​​of norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol by approximately 30% and 20%. This should be considered when choosing an oral contraceptive for women using Ezvasten. Concomitant administration of Ezvasten and protease inhibitors that are cytochrome P450 3A4 inhibitors increases plasma concentrations of atorvastatin.
