Uses of Humared

1. Uses of Humared


What is Humared drug? Humared pills contain ingredients including iron fumarate and folic acid. The drug is prepared in the form of soft capsules, with the content of iron fumarate 200mg and folic acid 1.5mg.
Humared drug provides iron and folic acid for the body to help prevent and treat general anemia caused by iron deficiency, folic acid deficiency, especially pregnant and lactating women, premature babies, malnourished, postoperative patients, blood donors, debilitated.
Contraindicated to use Humared iron in the following cases:
Allergy or hypersensitivity to any ingredient of Humared drug. Hemosiderin infection, haemochromatosis. Hemolytic anemia or pernicious anemia. You are taking iron-containing products by injection. The patient has a malignancy or an unspecified tumor. Humared should not be used concurrently with folic acid or vitamin B12. Use caution in patients who may have folic-dependent tumors.

2. How to take Humared iron pills


Humared drug is taken orally at a prescribed dose according to the treatment purpose as well as the patient's condition. Specifically:
Prophylaxis of iron deficiency anemia:
Adults: 1 tablet/time/day, taken every other day. Children: 1/2 tablet/time/day, take every other day. Treatment of iron deficiency anemia:
Adults: 1 tablet/time x 1 time/day. Children: 1/2 tablet/time x 1 time/day. Duration of taking Humared: After checking the patient's hemoglobin level returned to normal, continue taking the drug for 3 - 6 months.

3. Overdose, forgetting dose of Humared iron and handling


3.1. Iron Symptoms of overdosage with Humared may occur with a minimum dose of 20mg/kg. Acute iron toxicity can appear symptoms in 4 stages as follows:
Within the first 6 hours: coma, fever, difficulty breathing, pulmonary edema, shock, abdominal pain, hypotension, hyperglycemia, lethargy, leukocytosis, metabolic acidosis. If death does not occur, symptoms should subside within 12 to 24 hours.
Within 12 to 48 hours of ingestion, symptoms change and may include: hyperthermia, urinary retention, diffuse vascular obstruction, metabolic acidosis, pulmonary edema, convulsions, shock, even is death.
In 2 to 6 weeks after oral administration, pyloric stenosis, cirrhosis, and CNS damage may occur.
3.2. Folic acid Folic acid is a safe substance, taking too much folic acid can lead to restlessness, sleep changes and insomnia. Folic acid toxicity is linked to its metabolic interaction with vitamin B12.
If any symptoms of Humared iron overdose appear, stop using the drug and go to a medical facility for timely treatment.
If you forget to take a dose of Humared, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose of Humared and take your next dose at the scheduled time. Note that a double dose of Humared should not be taken.

4. Undesirable effects when using the drug Humared

5. Some notes when using Humared

6. Drug interactions


Tetracycline: when used concurrently with the drug Humared may reduce the absorption of both drugs. The absorption of levodopa, methyldopa, fluoroquinolone and penicilamine may be reduced to form iron-quinolone ion complexes. Antacids, H2 antihistamines, or proton pump inhibitors may decrease absorption of Humared iron. Chloramphenicol: delays response to iron therapy. Folic acid reduces the concentration of Phenytoin and reduces the therapeutic effect of Raltitrexed.
