The principle of action of the drug Indomethacin is still being studied and analyzed. The presently documented findings suggest that it is believed that indometacin exerts its action on the basis of its ability to inhibit Prostaglandin synthetase. The same inhibition that reduces production can affect several other enzymes. At the same time, this inhibition will reduce the ability to platelet aggregation and the effect lasts for 24 hours of you using the drug. Over this time, the concentration of the drug in the blood will decrease until it returns to normal.
