Cardus marianus in Liverplant medicine is extracted from Cardus marianus tree with the main active ingredient is silymarin, besides a mixture of flavonoids such as Silydianin, Silychristin and Silybin. Among them, Silybin has the strongest biological effect.
Cardus marianus extract is used to prevent the processes that cause damage to hepatocytes through the following mechanisms:
Enhances the durability of hepatocyte membranes and microsomes through the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation in membranes ; Stimulates increased metabolism in the liver; Stimulates increased protein synthesis in hepatocytes through the action of RNA polymerase in ribosomes; Increases liver detoxification efficiency, reduces glutathione oxidation in mitochondria and in liver due to iron overload; Liverplant has the effect of chelating iron, reducing the activity of tumor-generating agents, drugs that are toxic to the liver; Strengthens mast cell membrane stabilization against radiation-induced inhibition of DNA and RNA synthesis in the spleen and liver.

Liverplant is indicated for use in the following cases:
Digestive dysfunction, loss of appetite, body weakness...; Liver dysfunction, including hepatitis due to causes or viral hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis with symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, anorexia, indigestion, jaundice, constipation; Conditions due to decreased detoxification function of the liver, including pimples, acne, itchy skin sores, chronic allergies...
