2. Uses of the drug Naphaceptiv

Naphaceptiv is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy and for the treatment of idiopathic menorrhagia.
Attention should be paid when using the drug for the following subjects:
Women who are pregnant or suspected of being pregnant. Unusual or undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. Active thrombophlebitis or thrombosis. Acute liver disease, benign or malignant liver tumors. Are being treated or have a history of Carcinoma . In a previous pregnancy, jaundice or persistent itching. Patients with or suspected estrogen-dependent tumors. Pharmacokinetic properties:
Hormonal substances in oral contraceptives make a woman still menstruating but not ovulating so she can't get pregnant. These substances also thicken the cervical mucus, preventing sperm from entering the ovary to fertilize it. Pharmacodynamic properties:
Ethinylestradiol is slowly cleared and has a half-life of 13 - 27 hours. After oral administration Levonorgestrel contained in Naphaceptiv is rapidly and completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The bioavailability of levonorgestrel is almost 100%. In serum levonorgestrel binds to sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) and to albumin.

3. Dosage and how to use Naphaceptiv

How to use the first dose: Take the first gold tablets on the first day of the menstrual cycle (the day of the start of menstruation). Take all 21 yellow pills, then take 7 brown pills. After finishing this pack, take another pack, do not wait for your period to drink. Only start a new pack after the old pack has been removed. If you take the first pill on the first day of your period and you don't forget one pill in the pack, you don't need to take additional birth control pills. After a miscarriage or abortion: Naphaceptiv should be taken within 5 days of a miscarriage or abortion. Recommended dosage: Take 1 tablet per day If you forget one or more pills: If you forget to take a pill, you need to take it as soon as you remember, even if you take 2 pills a day. If you forget 2 or more tablets, you must take 2 tablets per day until the number of missed pills is complete. Use backup contraception (such as condoms) or abstain from sex for 1 week after forgetting the pill.

4. Naphaceptiv drug interactions

Paracetamol is eliminated from the body faster in women taking oral contraceptives and pain relief may be reduced. Paracetamol also increases intestinal absorption of ethinylestradiol by about 20%. Ethinylestradiol may increase facial pigmentation caused by minocycline. Toxicity and effects of zidovudine may be enhanced when co-administered with Ethinylestradiol. May reduce the effect of imipramine but at the same time can cause toxicity due to imipramine. Rifampin reduces the sexual activity of estrogen when used concurrently, by making urinary liver enzymes difficult, leading to increased estrogen digestion. Ethinylestradiol may potentiate the anti-inflammatory effects of hydrocortisone by reducing hepatic corticosteroid metabolism and/or altering corticosteroid binding to serum proteins. Estrogen may decrease the effectiveness of oral anticoagulants. Liver enzyme stimulants such as barbiturates, phenytoin, primidone, phenobarbitone, rifampicin, carbamazepine, and griseofulvin may decrease the contraceptive effect of Levonorgestrel. For women who are taking medication for long-term liver enzyme disorders, an additional method of contraception must be used. Concomitant use with antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of the drug by interfering with the intestinal microflora.

6. Some notes when using Naphaceptiv

Levonorgestrel should be used with caution in patients with valvular heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, uterine fibroids and in those at increased risk of an abnormal pregnancy. Because the drug can cause fluid retention, renal monitoring is required in people with asthma. Patients must be thoroughly examined and counseled before prescribing ethinylestradiol and with particular attention to blood pressure, breast and abdominal body, and thrombosis. Women with heart or kidney dysfunction, narcosis, migraines, asthma, or uterine fibroids need careful monitoring when taking the drug because it can worsen the condition. The risk of thromboembolic disease from taking ethinyl estradiol increases with age and smoking. Therefore, women over 35 years of age when taking the drug should be advised to quit smoking. Pregnant and lactating women absolutely must not use the drug. Driving and operating machinery is not affected by Naphaceptiv. Hopefully the article has information about the uses, usage and some necessary notes about Naphaceptiv to help you use the drug safely and maximize the treatment effect.
