Uses of PymeClarocil

PymeClarocil is an oral antibiotic with the main ingredient clarithromycin, indicated for use in infections caused by bacteria sensitive to this antibiotic.

1. Uses of the drug PymeClarocil

PymeClarocil 250 has the active ingredient Clarithromycin 250mg and PymeClarocil 500 has the main ingredient Clarithromycin 500mg. Prepared in film coated tablet form. Clarithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic, usually bacteriostatic, but at high concentrations or against susceptible bacteria, it has bactericidal action.
Mechanism of action of the drug is to bind to the 50S subunit of the ribosome from the longa to inhibit its protein synthesis by bacteria. Antibacterial spectrum on bacteria such as Chlamydia spp., U. urealyticum, M. catarrhalis, M.leprae, Legionella spp., other gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

2. Indications and contraindications of PymeClarocil

Indications: PymeClarocil is indicated for use in the following cases:
Respiratory tract infections including: Exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial bronchitis, tonsillitis, acute sinusitis, otitis media , community-acquired pneumonia of mild to moderate severity. Inflammation of the skin and soft tissues due to bacterial infection. Patients with advanced peptic ulcer disease caused by H. pylori: Usually used in combination with another antihistamine H2 antagonist or an H+ proton pump inhibitor and another antibiotic to eradicate H. pylori. Superinfection in HIV-infected patients is caused by infection with Mycobacterium avium or M. avium complex. Contraindications: PymeClarocil is not used in the following cases:
Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics or any of the excipients in the formula. Patients with severe liver failure. Patients with hypokalemia cause a prolonged QT interval. Do not use in combination with ergot derivatives or any of the following drugs: Cisaprid, Pimozide and Terfenadin; Astemizol and the drug Simvastatin.

3. Usage and dosage of PymeClarocil

3.1. Using

The drug is taken orally. You can take the drug at any time because its bioavailability is not affected by food. It is recommended to take the drug at a fixed interval, to increase the effectiveness of the drug.

3.2. Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years old:
Infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues: The usual dose is 250mg and used twice a day for 7 days. In case of severe respiratory infection, the dose can be increased to 500mg and taken twice a day and the duration of treatment can be extended to 14 days. In peptic ulcers caused by H. pylori infection: You should take 500mg x 2 times/day, a course of treatment usually lasts 7-14 days, depending on the combination treatment regimen. Mycobacterium infections: Initially 500mg twice a day for 3-4 weeks, if not effective can be increased to 1000mg / 2 times / day. Often used for a long time. For patients with renal impairment: When taking this drug, the total therapeutic dose should be halved and the drug should not be used for more than 14 days.

3.3. Overdose

When overdose may experience symptoms: Including symptoms similar to unwanted effects. 6. Drug interactions

7. Storage conditions
