Treatment of tuberculosis, leprosy and severe infections caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Support for the prophylaxis of meningitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria meningitidis. Treatment of Brucella disease.

Dosage and way of taking Rifampicin 300mg depends on each disease and different subjects. Specifically:
With tuberculosis: Adults take 8-12 mg/kg, once a day, away from meals. Children take 10mg/kg, once a day. Drink away from meals. Note: When used in combination with other anti-tuberculosis drugs, follow the doctor's instructions. For infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria: Newborns: 15-20mg/kg/day, divided into 2 times. Adults: 20 - 30mg/kg/day, divided into 2 times. Drink away from meals. With Brucella: Use a combination of Rifampicin 300mg/day, take 1 time in the morning on an empty stomach and Doxycycline 200mg/day, take it once in the evening. If the disease is acute, the course of treatment is 45 days. Prophylaxis of meningococcal meningitis : Adults take a dose of 600mg / time, 12 hours apart. Children 1 month - 12 months old dose 10mg/kg, 12 hours apart. Children under 1 month old dose 5mg/kg every 12 hours orally. Drink away from meals. With leprosy: Take 600mg/time/month. Calcium blockers, antifungals: Cyclosporin, Tacrolimus, Corticoids, Estrogen... Isoniazid (INH) and Pyrazinamide ingredients will increase toxicity with liver. Interacts with Enzyme cytochrome P450, increases metabolism of drugs: Oral contraceptives, anticoagulants, Digoxin, Letoconazole, Erythromycin, Clarithromycin, Diazepam, beta blockers,... Common side effects:
Urine, stools and tears are orange red; Mild digestive disorders; Hypersensitivity: Itching, rash. Less common side effects:
Fatigue; Headache; Jaundice; Increase liver enzymes.
