1. What is Rovas 3M?


Rovas 3M is an antibiotic of the Macrolide group, made in the form of film-coated tablets with the following ingredients:
Active ingredient Spiramycin with a content of ~ 3,000,000 IU. Excipients are just enough for 1 tablet: Aerosil, tapioca starch, talc, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide, HPMC, PEG 6000. At serum concentrations, Rovas 3M has a bacteriostatic effect. . However, when reaching concentrations in tissues, the drug will kill bacteria. The drug works by acting on the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. This prevents bacteria from synthesizing proteins.
Bacterial strains that Rovas 3M drug works on are:
Gram-positive bacteria. Coccus strains such as Staphylococcus, Pneumococcus, Meningococcus.

2. Indications to use Rovas 3M


Rovas 3M is indicated in the following cases:
Treatment of infections of the respiratory tract, skin and genitals caused by bacteria sensitive to the drug. Indications for the prophylaxis of meningococcal meningitis when rifampicin is contraindicated. Prophylaxis of congenital Toxoplasma infection during pregnancy. Prevention of recurrent acute rheumatic fever in patients allergic to penicillin.

3. How to use, dosage of Rovas 3M


How to take Rovas 3M:
Food in the stomach will reduce the bioavailability of Rovas 3M, so it should be taken at least 2 hours before meals or 3 hours after meals. Patients using Rovas 3M must follow the entire course of treatment. Dosage of Rovas 3M:
Treatment dose:
Adults and children over 12 years old use a dose of 3,000,000 IU, 3 times in 24 hours (1 tablet x 3 times/day). Children take 150,000 IU/kg body weight/24 hours, divided into 3 times. Prophylactic treatment of meningitis caused by Meningococcus strains with Rovas 3M:
Adults and children over 12 years old: Take 3,000,000 IU Rovas 3M, every 12 hours (1 tablet x 2 times/day). Prevention of congenital Toxoplasma infection in pregnancy:
Take 9,000,000 IU/day (3 tablets/day), divided into several times. Take for 3 weeks, every 2 weeks for a booster dose. The above treatment dose is for reference only. 4. Side effects of Rovas 3M


Common side effects:
Digestive system: Nausea and vomiting, diarrhea or indigestion. Uncommon side effects:

Temporary paresthesias, dysesthesias, unsteadiness, myalgia and joint stiffness, burning sensation at the injection site (intravenous administration). Gastrointestinal: Acute colitis.
