Tiphadocef belongs to the group of drugs used to treat parasites, anti-infectives, antivirals and antifungals. Tiphadocef is prepared in the form of film-coated tablets, packed in a box of 1 blister, a box of 2 blisters and a box of 5 blisters x 10 tablets.
Tiphadocef medicine has the main ingredient Cefpodoxime (in the form of Cefpodoxime proxetil) with a content of 200mg and other excipients, just enough for 1 tablet.

Cefpodoxime is used to treat the following infections:
Treatment of upper respiratory tract infections including tonsillitis and pharyngitis, sinusitis, acute otitis media. Treatment of community-acquired pneumonia. Treatment of acute gonococcal infection without complications. Treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections. Infections of the skin and subcutaneous soft tissue structures.

Tiphadocef is for oral use with an adequate amount of water and should be taken with food.
Dosage of Tiphadocef is referenced as follows:
Adults:
Upper respiratory tract infections, including tonsillitis and pharyngitis: 100mg of Cefpodoxime every 12 hours for 10 days. Community-acquired acute pneumonia: 200 mg Cefpodoxime every 12 hours for 14 days. Uncomplicated acute gonococcal infection: single dose of 200 mg Cefpodoxime. Uncomplicated urinary tract infections: 100mg of Cefpodoxime every 12 hours for 7 days. Skin and skin structure infections: 400 mg Cefpodoxime every 12 hours for 7-14 days. Children:
Acute otitis media: 10 mg Cefpodoxime/kg/day (maximum 400 mg Cefpodoxime/day in 2 divided doses) for 10 days. Pharyngitis and tonsillitis: 10 mg Cefpodoxime/kg/day (maximum 200mg Cefpodoxime/day in 2 divided doses) for 10 days. In patients with renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min), the interval between doses of cefpodoxime should be increased to 24 hours.
No dose adjustment of cefpodoxime is required in patients with cirrhosis.

Tiphadocef should not be used in patients with a history of sensitivity to cefpodoxime proxetil.

Co-administration of antacids or H2 inhibitors with Cefpodoxime proxetil may reduce plasma concentrations by approximately 30%. When co-administration of compounds known to be nephrotoxic with cefpodoxime is indicated, patients should closely monitor renal function. Plasma concentrations of cefpodoxime are increased when cefpodoxime is co-administered with probenecid. In tests Cephalosporins are known to alter positive direct Coomb test values.
