Tronanmycin belongs to the group of drugs that treat parasites, fungi and bacteria. The drug is often indicated for use in the treatment of diseases such as: urinary tract infections, infections of the blood, bones, skin and soft tissues, meningitis or lower respiratory tract infections.

1. What is Tronanmycin?

The main ingredient of Tronanmycin is Tobramycin - an aminoglycoside antibiotic with bactericidal effect. The drug is prepared in the form of an injectable solution, a box of 5 vials x 2ml and manufactured at Kukje Pharm Ind Co., Ltd - Korea.
Currently the drug is being circulated in Vietnam with registration number VN-10335-10.

2. What is the effect of Tronanmycin?

With the main ingredient Tobramycin, Tronanmycin acts by inhibiting protein synthesis by irreversibly binding to the 30s ribosomal subunit in susceptible bacteria.

3. Usage and dosage of Tronanmycin

3.1 How to use With every other drug or medicine, there are different ways of use such as oral, injectable, put or external use. Tobramycin is available as a solution for injection and is indicated for intramuscular or intravenous injection.
3.2 Dosage Children: Use dose 6 - 7.5mg/kg/day, the dose is divided into 3-4 times. Adults: Severe infections 3mg/kg/day x 3 times; Serious and potentially life-threatening infections: 5 mg/kg/day x 3 times. Use up to 5mg/kg/day. Newborns under 1 week old: Use dose 4mg/kg/day x 2 times. Note: The duration of treatment with Tronanmycin should not exceed 7 days. Concentration for injection used strictly according to the indications and instructions from the doctor.

4. Side effects when using Tronanmycin

When using Tronanmycin or any medicine, there may be some unwanted effects. However, the severity will also depend on the condition of the patient. Some side effects of Tronanmycin include:
Cochlear toxicity of the 8th nerve: Dizziness, nystagmus, buzzing in the ears and possible hearing loss; Other common side effects: Anemia, headache, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, fever, rash, urticaria, pruritus, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, confusion and incapability orientation; Uncommon: Increased serum transaminases (SGOT-SGPT) and lactic dehydrogenase, decreased serum calcium, magnesium, sodium or potassium. If you experience these symptoms, the patient should stop using Tronanmycin and notify the doctor for appropriate treatment.

5. Precautions when using Tronanmycin

Patients with renal failure may be affected on the 8th nerve; Avoid concurrent or subsequent use of other antibiotics with neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity such as Amikacin, Streptomycin and Neomycin...; Risk of toxicity to the ears and kidneys if Tronanmycin is used for a long time.

6. Can pregnant and lactating women use Tronanmycin?

Care should be taken when using Tronanmycin during pregnancy because it can cause fetal damage. In lactating women, Tronanmycin may cause fetal and neonatal ototoxicity. Therefore, the use of Tronanmycin is contraindicated during pregnancy or lactation.
