Uses of Vidaloxin

Vidaloxin medicine is made in the form of hard capsules, the main ingredient is Amoxicillin. It is used in the treatment of a wide variety of respiratory, urinary tract, and other infections.

1. What are the uses of Vidaloxin?

Vidaloxin medicine is prepared with the main ingredient is amoxicillin. Amoxicillin is an aminopenicillin, which is stable in acid medium, has a broader spectrum of activity than benzylpenicillin, especially it is active against Gram-negative bacilli. Like many other penicillins, amoxicillin has bactericidal activity due to its inhibitory properties on mucopeptide biosynthesis of bacterial cell walls.
Amoxicillin is active against mainly gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria such as: Streptococcus, non-penicillinase-producing staphylococcus, Diplococcus pneumoniae, H. influenzae, E.coli, N.gonorrheae and proteus mirabilis.
Amoxicillin is inactive against penicillinase-producing bacteria, especially methicillin-resistant staphylococci, all strains of Pseudomonas and most strains of Klebsiella, Enterobacter.
Indications : Use Vidaloxin in the following cases:
Treatment of upper respiratory tract infections; People with lower respiratory tract infections caused by pneumococcal, streptococci, non-penicillinase-producing staphylococci and H. Influenzae; Treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections; Treatment of gonorrhea; Treatment of biliary tract infections; Treatment of skin and muscle infections caused by staphylococcus, streptococcus, E. Coli sensitive to amoxicillin. Contraindications : Do not use Vidaloxin in the following cases:
Patients with a history of allergy to beta-lactam antibiotics (cephalosporins, penicillins).

2. Usage and dosage of Vidaloxin

Usage : Vidaloxin is used orally.
Dosage :
For adults: Usually 250 - 500mg x 3 times/day; For children under 10 years old: Use 125 - 250mg x 3 times/day; For children under 20kg: Use 20-40mg/kg/day; For children 3 - 10 years old with otitis media: If necessary, a dose of 750mg/time x 2 times/day for 2 days can be given; For patients with renal failure: Attention must be paid to reducing the dose according to the creatinine clearance, specifically: Clcr > 10 ml/min: 500 mg/12 hours and Clcr < 10 ml/min: 500 mg/24 hours. Overdose: Symptoms rarely occur, including: kidney stones, mental, gastrointestinal. Treatment: Control electrolyte balance in case of gastrointestinal disturbances. In addition, electrolyte/water imbalances should be treated symptomatically. During administration of high doses of amoxicillin, adequate fluid intake and urinary excretion should be maintained to limit the risk of amoxicillin crystalluria.
Missed dose: If you forget 1 dose of Vidaloxin, you need to pay attention to take the supplement as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the scheduled time. Note: Do not take double the prescribed dose because it can be dangerous.

Drug interactions can affect the effectiveness of therapy or increase the side effects of one or more drugs. Some drug interactions of Vidaloxin patients should note include:
Amoxicillin absorption is not affected by food in the stomach, so patients can take the drug before or after meals; Probenecid reduces renal tubular secretion of amoxicillin. Concomitant use of this drug with amoxicillin may further and prolong blood levels of amoxicillin; Nifedipine causes increased absorption of amoxicillin; When using Vidaloxin together with allopurinol will increase the possibility of rash of amoxicillin; Antagonism between amoxicillin and other antibacterial agents such as tetracyclines or chloramphenicol may occur.
