Zyclara drug has the main ingredient Imiquimod, prepared in the form of a topical cream. Imiquimod belongs to a class of drugs called immune response modifiers. Zyclara cream is a prescription medication used to treat actinic keratosis, which is a condition caused by overexposure to the sun on the face and scalp in adults over 18 years of age.
Zyclara cream is also used to treat genital warts that appear on the outside of the body in adults and children 12 years of age and older.

Zyclara is made for topical use, not for oral use.
Steps to apply the medicine:
Wash your hands before and after applying Zyclara cream. At the same time, you need to wash the treated skin area and let it dry for at least 10 minutes before applying the medicine. Apply a thin and even layer of cream. Use before going to bed and leave the medicine on the skin for 8 hours. In the morning when you wake up, wash your skin with water and mild soap. Zyclara is not a cure for genital warts, meaning it does not kill the virus that causes it. You can still spread the infection to others through sex. Using Zyclara topical too much or for too long can increase the risk of a serious skin reaction. Call your doctor if you are being treated with Zyclara and your symptoms are not improving or they get worse.

While taking Zyclara, you may experience mild to severe side effects including:
Common Zyclara side effects may include: Mild skin pain, irritation, itching, redness, dryness, peeling, scaling, or swelling where the medicine was applied; change in color of treated skin, this may be permanent; headache ; fatigue or nausea. Get emergency medical help if you have signs of a serious allergic reaction to Zyclara such as: Hives; shortness of breath; swelling in the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Tell your doctor right away if you experience symptoms such as: severe skin reactions, burning sensation, discharge, bleeding or new skin changes where the medicine was applied; when treating genital warts around the vagina, if there is severe swelling or problems urinating; flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, severe nausea, fatigue, body aches or swollen glands; bleeding or swelling where this medicine was applied; symptoms of herpes zoster (shingles) with sores or blisters, tingling, burning pain, and a rash on the face and trunk. What to know before taking this medicine:
Zyclara should not be used for genital warts in children under 12 years of age. All other uses of this medication are intended for use by adults over 18 years of age only. Avoiding using too much Zyclara or for too long can increase the risk of serious skin reactions . Do not use Zyclara cream on damaged, torn, or burned skin. When treating genital warts around the vaginal area, the cream should be avoided on the more sensitive inner layers of vaginal tissue. This can lead to vaginal swelling or irritation and painful urination. Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Topical creams containing Imiquimod may make you more susceptible to sunburn. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when outdoors. Avoid swimming or bathing while the medicine is on the skin. Rinse off the medication exactly as required before taking a shower. Avoid getting this medication in your eyes, nose, mouth, or rectum. If accidental contact occurs, rinse with water.
