3. Note before taking Blistex medicine

Blistex is not considered harmful when used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Do not allow young children to use Blistex without adult supervision.

4. Instructions for using Blistex


Use Blistex exactly as directed on the label or as directed by your doctor. Do not use Blistex in larger/smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
To treat chapped lips, apply sufficient amount of Blistex to moisten lips completely. For best results when treating blisters, use Blistex when the patient first notices any symptoms such as tingling or other signs of discomfort. Remove excess Blistex with a clean tissue; Wait at least 5 minutes before applying lipstick or other cosmetics to the treated lip area. It is best not to apply Blistex more than 4 times per day. Do not apply Blistex to large surfaces of skin or to cover treated skin with bandages or other covering material; Tell your doctor right away if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse while using Blistex. Store opened Blistex at room temperature. Avoid moisture and heat. Blistex is for use on the skin only. Avoid contact with mouth or eyes. Rinse with water if this occurs. Avoid using Blistex on deep wounds or on freshly shaved skin.

5. Side effects of the drug Blistex


Get emergency medical help if a patient has any of the following signs of an allergic reaction while taking Blistex topical: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, swelling of the lips, swelling of the tongue or throat ;
Stop using Blistex and call a doctor at once if the patient experiences severe burning, stinging, redness or irritation after applying the ointment;
