Clarithromycin is highly effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, both aerobic and anaerobic, specifically as follows:
Gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus pyogenes (group A β-hemolytic streptococcus), Staphylococcus aureus , Streptococcus agalactiae, α-haemolytic streptococci (group of viridans), Streptococcus (Diplococcus) pneumoniae, Listeria monocytogenes. Gram-negative bacteria: Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Haemophilus influenzae, Helicobacter pylori, Moraxella (Branhamella), Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Legionella pneumophila, Bordetella pertussis, Campylobacter jejuni. Mycoplasma: Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Anaerobic bacteria: Bacteroides fragilis is sensitive to Macrolid, Clostridium perfringens, Peptococcus species, Propionibacterium acnes. 2. Dosage and how to use Caricin 500mg
Caricin 500mg dose should be according to the doctor's prescription. Reference dose in case of pathology is as follows:
Respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections: The usual dose is Caricin 250 - 500 mg x 2 times/day, for 6-14 days. Stomach and duodenal ulcers caused by H. pylori infection: Adults and the elderly use a dose of 500mg x 2 times/day, a 7-day course of treatment, in combination with other drugs.
