Associate Professor, Ph.D, MD Nguyen Viet Nhan

Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Viet Nhan has nearly 40 years of experience in the field of Medical Genetics. During the time working at Hue University of Medicine & Pharmacy and Hospital of Hue University of Medicine & Pharmacy, he hold important positions such as Head of Department of Medical Genetics, Head of Central Testing Unit & Deputy director of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. He was appointed as Deputy Director of Screening - Prenatal Diagnosis - Neonatology Center which was responsible for 11 provinces in Central of Vietnam. Assoc Prof Nguyen Viet Nhan was undergraduate and postgraduate lecturer in the field of medical genetics, prenatal and neonatal diagnostic screening, genetic counseling for birth defects cases. At Vinmec Times City International General Hospital, he is currently senior genetic consultant.

Dr. Nhan is also the author of 11 books, 33 articles published in domestic medical journals, 06 articles published in foreign medical journals & 14 reports in national and international scientific conferences related to medical genetics. In addition, he is technical and medical consultant for nearly 10 years in two projects with Handicap International about early detection, prevention and early intervention for children with birth defects and care before preparing for pregnancy.
