Ph.D Nguyen Xuan Hung

About

Ph.D Nguyen Xuan Hung graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Immunology from the Borstel Research Center in Borstel, Germany. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMC) in Strasbourg and Center for Pathophysiology of Toulouse Purpan (CPTP), France. He is:

  • An orchestrator who is effectively conducting multiple simultaneous projects

  • An  inventor who developed a novel immobilized method to select scFv antibodies from phage display library
  • A DNA hacker who can cut, copy and paste DNA sequences as text editing
  • A producer who generated lentiviral packaging mix and some linearized vectors having similar efficacy as the related commercial ones
  • An  engineered who manipulated the genome of yeast, Drosophila, and mouse

After several years carrying out studies focus on mechanistic analysis of novel regulators in Fas-induced apoptotic and NF-kB signaling pathways, he is currently characterizing the immunopathogenesis of an autoimmune disease and setting up a human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) core facility for disease modeling and drug development.

In addition, he is coordinator, and principal translator of the Harvey Lodish’s Molecular cell biology textbook into Vietnamese, an editor of a Vietnam Biotechnology website, and a co-founder and former president of The Vietnamese Students' Association in Strasbourg
