Heart failure occurs when the electrical conduction system of the heart works abnormally, the heart rhythm is disturbed, the heart suddenly stops working for a period of time or stops beating completely. This is an extremely serious medical condition, the patient can die or there is a risk of permanent brain damage due to lack of oxygen transport to the brain.
Common causes of heart failure are ventricular fibrillation and atrial fibrillation, especially in patients with acute or chronic coronary artery disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, valvular disease, cardiac electrophysiological abnormalities ..., people using drugs or stimulants, severe nutritional imbalances, low blood potassium and magnesium, people with a family history of heart attack, people with cardiovascular risk factors (smoking) smoking, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia...).
Thus, the prevention of heart attack is the treatment of the underlying disease (above) that can cause severe arrhythmias such as ventricular fibrillation, atrial fibrillation. A heart transplant (or heart transplant) is only considered when the heart failure is so severe that it doesn't respond to any other therapy but the patient is in good health.
