How to treat protruding hemorrhoids?
Question
Hello doctor,
About a week ago, I discovered that I have hemorrhoids protruding out while walking heavily. However, before that, my diet was normal, not eating hot food more or less vegetables, drinking less water, ... and I did not have any signs of hemorrhoids such as burning pain, bleeding .. The hemorrhoid of a small child, to the touch, feels like an extra piece of meat. When pushing, it comes out and after a short time, it retracts itself. Before I had hemorrhoids, I couldn't walk as badly as if I was constipated, but it didn't hurt. For the past few days, I have been feeling itchy when the hemorrhoids come out. Should I go to the doctor or just take medicine? So the doctor told me how to treat protruding hemorrhoids? Thank you doctor.

Answered by resident Doctor Le Thanh Tuan - Department of General Surgery - Vinmec Nha Trang International General Hospital.
Hello,
With the question “How to treat protruding hemorrhoids? ", the doctor would like to answer as follows:
Your symptoms are consistent with internal hemorrhoids grade II - III. This is a process that takes place for a long time, and it is only when the hemorrhoids come out that you can feel it. You should go to the doctor for more advice
Surgery (Longo method) to treat hemorrhoids in cases like yours is the most thorough because when internal hemorrhoids have prolapsed, taking medicine can only limit hemorrhoids heavier. The advice is that you need to avoid constipation, practice a daily bowel habit, add enough water and fiber.
If you still have questions about protruding hemorrhoids, you can go to the hospital of Vinmec Health System for further examination and advice. Thank you for trusting and sending questions to Vinmec. Wishing you lots of health.
Best regards!
