Hello. Inactive hepatitis B is a term used to refer to people who carry the virus in an inactive form. Viruses exist in the human body, but they do not multiply and do not cause hepatitis.
Cases of chronic HBV infection without causing necrosis of the liver are also inactive hepatitis B. To determine if a person has an inactive hepatitis B carrier is usually based on the following criteria:
HBsAg positive persisting for more than 6 months. HBeAg (-), Anti Hbe (+). HBV DNA viral load. ALT/AST.
