How long does it take for mumps to go away and not spread to others?

Question
Hello doctor, 1 week ago I discovered that I had a small lymph node behind my left ear, after one night the lymph node was swollen and painful. I went to the pharmacy near my house, the doctor looked at it and prescribed a medicine that said it was mumps. After 2 days, there was a swollen lymph node in the other ear. Up to now, exactly 7 days, the lymph nodes have reduced a lot of swelling. Doctor, tell me how long it will be safe, mumps virus is completely gone and not spread to everyone?

Hello! Mumps is caused by a virus, with inflammation of the parotid and submandibular salivary glands, possibly with reactive lymphadenitis. As I described, only swollen lymph nodes, I need to see a specialist to diagnose whether I have mumps, from which the doctor will give you specific advice.
