I have a 24 month old baby, currently living in Japan. From May 2019, when he was 15 months old, he went to the doctor and discovered otitis media. Since then, I have been going to the clinic every week to check my ears and take ear and nose medicine regularly. Occasionally he has a fever and is treated with antibiotics. During that time, there was once a doctor injected the eardrum to drain the fluid, but it was not effective.
In October 2019, I went back to Phu Quoc to play for a week, when I returned to Japan to go to the doctor, my ear was completely healed. Is it because the weather in Vietnam is warmer that your ears will be healed?
Currently, the treating doctor recommends ear surgery to insert the drainage tube. Because he was so young, his family was very worried. Do you advise me to wait until next summer to see if my child's condition improves before deciding on treatment or should I proceed with surgery so as not to affect my hearing?
