Prediction of a scale to assess the risk of pressure ulcers


Pressure ulcers are common in the elderly, people with sedentary disease or inactivity, causing areas of skin and tissues to bear pressure on the body, or rubbing, pulling, causing damage. Proper assessment of the risk of pressure ulcers will help to treat them effectively and quickly. In the current examination and treatment, the Braden pressure ulcer risk assessment scale is used.

1. How does the Braden score assess the risk of pressure ulcers?


Braden score is now commonly used in medicine to assess the risk of developing pressure ulcers in patients. Accordingly, the rating scale is based on the following 6 signs:
Sensory perception; Humidity; Work; Move; Nutrition; Friction and sliding. A low Bradenm scale score describes a low level of function and, therefore, a high risk of pressure ulcers.
Example: Score >= 19, will indicate this patient is at low risk and does not need treatment at this time. Evaluation should also be used to evaluate specific treatments.
