If you are planning to become pregnant or maybe you are pregnant, you should see your doctor for further advice on necessary vaccines during pregnancy. Here are the vaccines that should be given before and during pregnancy.

1. Rubella vaccine

Rubella can be very dangerous to the unborn baby, especially in early pregnancy. If you get rubella during your first trimester, about 85% of your baby will also get it. When a baby is infected with rubella, it can cause deafness, cataracts, heart abnormalities, mental retardation, bone damage, liver and spleen enlargement.
Before becoming pregnant, your doctor will check your immunity to Rubella. If you were vaccinated against Rubella as a baby, you may no longer be immune and need to be vaccinated again. The most commonly used rubella vaccine today is the MMR. This is a live vaccine, so you should prevent pregnancy for at least 4 weeks after getting it.

2. Hepatitis B vaccine

If you have never been infected before, you should be vaccinated for immunity. The hepatitis B virus is not only dangerous to you, but it can also be passed on to your baby. Carriers have an increased risk of cirrhosis and liver cancer. Hepatitis B vaccine is safe for pregnancy.

3. H1N1 . flu vaccine

Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory disease. The flu vaccine is safe during pregnancy and is indicated for women who are trying to get pregnant and are in flu season. Immunity also protects the baby for the first few months of life.
Pregnant women also have an increased risk of hospitalization and serious complications from H1N1 infection. This risk increases and is highest in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters due to cardiovascular, respiratory and immunological changes. The H1N1 flu vaccine is safe for pregnant women and you should get it while you're pregnant and during flu season.

4. Diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus

Diphtheria, tetanus TD are safe vaccines for pregnant women. The TD vaccine is combined with a pertussis vaccine, also known as the Tdap vaccine. Although it has not been studied, Tdap can still be used on a case-by-case basis, there is a high risk of pertussis infection during pregnancy.

5. Other vaccines

In special cases you need to see a doctor for more advice on vaccines if necessary. For example, if you have to travel abroad while pregnant, you also need to consider other vaccines. In some countries, vaccines against polio and tuberculosis are of great interest.
