Altachlore Drops: Uses, indications and precautions when using

Hypertonic sodium chloride eye drops are used to draw water out of the swollen cornea. Excess water in the cornea can make your vision worse. Altachlore Drops is one of a type of eye drops containing hypertonic sodium chloride, used to reduce swelling of the cornea caused by irritation, injury and certain other conditions of the eye.

Altachlore Drops are sodium chloride (hypertonic) eye drops, this product is used to reduce swelling of the surface of the eye (cornea) in certain eye conditions such as surgery, infection, trauma or other eye diseases. Corneal swelling relief may reduce eye discomfort or reduce irritation caused by swelling. This product works by drawing fluid out of the cornea to reduce swelling.

Medicines for eyes only Patients need to wash their hands before and after using Altachlore eye drops Remove contact lenses before using Altachlore, lenses can be put back 15 minutes after instilling Altachlore. Patients should not reinsert contact lenses if the eye is irritated or infected. Do not touch the tip of the dropper to your eyes or other skin. Tilt your head back, look up, and pull your lower eyelid down to form a pocket. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and put 1 drop in the eye. Release your eyelids and gently close your eyes. Place a finger at the corner of your eye and press gently for 1 to 2 minutes. This will prevent the eye drops from leaking out. Do not blink or rub your eyes with your hands. Repeat these steps if your dose is more than 1 drop and instill the same in the other eye as directed. Do not wash the dropper. The patient needs to change the dropper cap after each use. Do not use if solution is cloudy, leaking or has material inside. Do not use if solution changes color. If you are using another type of eye drop such as eye drops or ointment, wait at least 5 minutes before using the other. To be safe before using Altachlore Drops, you should note the following:
Tell your doctor if you are allergic to sodium chloride or any other ingredient in Altachlore Tell your doctor and your pharmacist about all your medicines (prescription or over-the-counter, supplements, vitamins) and other health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine without your doctor's guidance.

If you use Altachlore (sodium chloride (hypertonic) eye drops) on a regular basis, use a missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or add an additional dose of Altachlore Drops.

Possible side effects when using Altachlore Drops are: eye discomfort, burning, eye redness or temporary blurred vision. If any of the above effects persist or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist right away. Although it can be rare, some people can experience serious and sometimes fatal side effects when taking the drug. Tell your doctor or healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to an unwanted drug effect:
Signs of an allergic reaction such as rash board; hives; itchy; red, swollen, blistering, peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing ; chest tightness; difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. Vision changes, eye pain, or severe eye irritation.

To keep Altachlore Drops effective, patients need to store the drug as follows:
Store at room temperature, do not refrigerate Avoid high temperatures Store in a dry place. Do not store medicine in the bathroom Keep medicine in a safe place, out of reach of children. Throw away unused or expired medicine.

If you are using this product under the direction of your doctor, they may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring your medication status. Therefore, do not start, stop or change the dose of any medicine on your own before checking with your doctor or pharmacist.
