Edarbychlor: Uses, indications and precautions when using

Edarbychlor is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Controlling blood pressure in hypertensive patients helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. However, not all patients with high blood pressure can use this drug.

1. What are the effects of Edarbychlor?

Edarbyclor contains two main ingredients: azilsartan and chlorthalidone. Azilsartan works by dilating blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). Chlorthalidone causes your body to excrete extra salt and water by making more urine. It is called a "water pill" or a diuretic.
Edarbyclor is indicated in the following cases:

2. How to use Edarbychlor

Read the package insert from your doctor carefully before you start taking Edarbyclor and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions about how to use Edarbyclor, ask your doctor. Take Edarbyclor by mouth with or without food, as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. If you take Edarbyclor too close to bedtime, you may have to wake up to urinate in the middle of the night. Therefore, it is best to take this medicine at least 4 hours before bedtime. The dose of Edarbyclor is calculated based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Take Edarbyclor regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take Edarbyclor at the same time each day. Keep taking Edarbyclor even if you feel well. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick. It may take several weeks before you get the full benefit of Edarbyclor. If you also take certain medications to lower cholesterol (such as cholestyramine, colestipol), take azilsartan/chlorthalidone at least 2 hours before or at least 4 hours after these medicines. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens (your blood pressure readings remain high or increase) after treatment with Edarbyclor. Lifestyle changes that can help Edarbyclor work better include exercising, stopping smoking, and eating a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet. Tests including kidney function and blood levels of minerals such as potassium should be performed periodically to monitor your progress or check for Edarbyclor side effects. Check your blood pressure regularly while taking Edarbyclor. Learn how to self-monitor your blood pressure at home and share the results with your doctor.
