Uses of biviflu

Biviflu contains Paracetamol, Loratadin and Dextromethorphan as ingredients. The combination of these three active ingredients makes the drug effective in reducing pain, fever, itching and cough.

1. What is Biviflu?

Biviflu is a combination of a pain reliever and fever reducer Paracetamol with a new generation, long acting and non-sedating antihistamine, Loratadine, and a non-narcotic cough suppressant called Dextromethorphan. The drug is used in the treatment of pain, fever, allergy itching and cough.

2. General information of Biviflu

Manufacturer: BV Pharma Joint Stock Company. Packing: Box of 10 blisters x 10 tablets or bottled 500 tablets (for hospital use). Dosage form: Film coated tablets. Ingredients
Each Biviflu tablet contains:
Paracetamol 500mg . Loratadine 5mg. Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 15mg. Excipients include: Sodium starch glycolate, Corn starch, Povidone, Sodium Iauryl sulfate, Anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, Talc, Magnesium stearate, Green Opadry, Purified water just enough 1 long film coated tablet.

3. Effects of Biviflu

Biviflu is used to treat flu symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, chills, headache, muscle and joint pain, rash, rhinitis caused by seasonal allergies.
In it, the effect of the main ingredients in the formula, including:
Paracetamol, an anti-inflammatory pain reliever of the NSAID group, has analgesic and antipyretic effects. Loratadine is an antihistamine with the effect of reducing itching, preventing and treating allergies and urticaria. The active ingredient has no sedative effect, does not cause drowsiness, has a long-lasting therapeutic effect and causes fewer side effects than other antihistamines of the same generation. Dextromethorphan is effective in temporarily reducing coughs such as cough without phlegm, cough due to respiratory inflammation. It is not effective in treating persistent coughs caused by smoking or prolonged breathing problems. Tablets that combine these 3 drugs increase the therapeutic effect and reduce the unwanted effects when used separately for each active ingredient.
Indications

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug. Severe liver and kidney dysfunction. The patient lacks the enzyme Glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase. The patient is taking MAOIs. People with asthma, acute respiratory failure, severe cardiovascular disease. Children under 2 years old.
Usage
Use orally. Biviflu should be taken after meals to avoid stomach irritation. Dosage
Adults and children over 12 years: Take 1 tablet, 2 times a day. Children 6-12 years old: Take 1/2 tablet, 2 times a day. People with liver failure, kidney failure: Drug elimination is slow, should take 1 tablet / day or take it every other day.

4. How to handle missed dose, overdose

Missed dose:
You can take the supplement as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Avoid taking a double dose to make up for an overdose. Overdose:
Symptoms of overdose when using Biviflu: paleness, nausea, tachycardia, respiratory depression, abdominal pain and urinary retention. Liver damage is evident in 12 - 48 hours after taking the drug. In cases of severe liver damage poisoning, can progress to encephalopathy coma and death. When experiencing the above symptoms, go to a medical facility immediately for timely treatment.
Undesirable effects
Due to Paracetamol: The effects are usually very mild, sometimes skin rash, nausea, vomiting. Long-term abuse can cause increased nephrotoxicity, high doses damage the liver. Due to Loratadine: Headache, dizziness, dry mouth, dry nose, rarely tachycardia, nausea. Due to Dextromethorphan: Headache, dizziness, dizziness, muscle weakness, somnolence, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain. Inform the doctor about the unwanted effects encountered when taking Biviflu for timely treatment, avoiding major effects on the patient's health.
Drug interactions
Long-term intake of high doses of Paracetamol slightly increases the anticoagulant effect of Coumarin and Indandion derivatives. Anticonvulsants (Phenytoin, Barbiturates, Carbamazepine) may increase the hepatotoxicity of Paracetamol by increasing its metabolism to toxic substances. Concomitant administration of cimetidine, ketoconazole or erythromycin with loratadine increases plasma concentrations of loratadine without clinical manifestations. Due to the presence of Dextromethorphan, avoid concomitant use with Amiodarone, Quinidin, Fluoxetin, Haloperidol, Paroxetin, Propafenon and Thiodirazine. Co-administration with MAOIs may increase the side effects of the drug.
Note when using the drug
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the effects of the drug on pregnant and lactating women. Use only for pregnant or lactating women when clearly needed in the short term. Caution should be exercised when concurrent use of alcohol-containing products with Dextromethorphan combination drugs. Other special note
