Uses of Cardicor

Cardicor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, which belongs to the group of beta-blockers. Cardicor's mechanism of action is to act on the heart and blood vessels, inhibiting nerve signals to help the heart beat slower, reducing muscle tension. As a result, the pressure of the blood in the blood vessels decreases and it becomes easier for the heart to pump blood around the body.

1. What is Cardicor 5mg used for?

Cardicor 5mg works by affecting the body's response to certain nerve impulses, especially in the heart. As a result, Bisoprolol lowers the heart rate and pumps blood around the body more efficiently.

Always take Cardicor as prescribed by your doctor. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if unsure.
Dosage in adults and the elderly:
Hypertension or angina attack : The maximum daily dose is 20mg x 1 time / day. Stable Chronic Heart Failure: Treatment should be managed by a physician experienced in the treatment of chronic heart failure. Normally, treatment with Bisoprolol for a diagnosis of heart failure should be started at a low dose and increased gradually. The doctor specializing in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases will decide how to increase the dose and this will usually be done in the following way: 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol 1 time per day for a week; 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol 1 time per day for a week; 3.75 mg Bisoprolol 1 time per day for a week; 5 mg of Bisoprolol 1 time per day for four weeks; 7.5 mg of Bisoprolol 1 time per day for four weeks; 10 mg Bisoprolol 1 time per day for maintenance therapy. This is also the maximum dose. However, depending on how well the medication is tolerated, your doctor may also decide to extend the time between dose increases. If heart failure worsens or the patient is unable to tolerate the drug, it may be necessary to reduce the dose of Cardicor again or to interrupt treatment. Usually, some patients with heart failure may be able to take a lower maintenance dose of 10 mg bisoprolol.
Cardicor is not recommended for use in children and adolescents.
The time to take Cardicor should be taken in the morning, before, with or after breakfast. Tablets should be swallowed whole with a little water and do not chew or crush them.
If you accidentally take more Cardicor than necessary, contact your doctor immediately to determine what measures are necessary. The most common signs of a Bisoprolol overdose may include slowed heart rate, trouble breathing, feeling dizzy or shaky (due to a drop in blood sugar).
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose.
Do not stop Bisoprolol treatment suddenly or change the recommended dose without consulting your doctor. If treatment needs to be stopped, it should be done gradually to avoid side effects.
