Uses of Dorodipine

Dorodipine belongs to the group of calcium channel blockers, which lower blood pressure, reduce the frequency of angina attacks and symptoms of headaches, dizziness, and dizziness caused by high blood pressure.

1. What is Dorodipine?

Dorodipine contains the main ingredient Amlodipine 10mg, which is a calcium antagonist of the Dihydropyridine group. The drug blocks calcium channels across cardiac and vascular smooth muscle membranes. Thanks to the action of the drug, the smooth muscle tone of the blood vessels (arterioles) decreases. Vasodilation increases oxygen supply to the heart, lowering blood pressure.
In patients with angina, the use of Dorodipine increased total exercise time, time to onset of angina, and time to 1 mm ST segment suppression (on electrocardiogram), causing both the frequency of angina attacks and the use of nitroglycerin tablets (for the treatment of angina). Prevention of cardiovascular events associated with coronary artery disease.
After oral administration Dorodipine is slowly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The drug is metabolized in the liver and excreted slowly in the urine. The slow elimination leads to a prolonged effect, making Dorodipine suitable for once-daily dosing.

2. Indications of Dorodipine

Dorodipine is used in the following cases:
Control of essential hypertension; Treatment of stable angina pectoris; Chest pain caused by vasoconstriction.

3. Contraindications of Dorodipine

Dorodipine is contraindicated for use in the following patients:
Allergy to dihydropyridine derivatives, amlodipine or any component of the drug; Severe, unexplained hypotension; The patient is in shock (including cardiogenic shock); Severe aortic stenosis obstructing the vessels in the left ventricle; Acute myocardial infarction causes congestive heart failure.

4. Notes when using Dorodipine

Use in patients with heart failure: Several studies have shown that dorodipine use is associated with an increased incidence of pulmonary edema. Need to weigh the benefits before using; Use in patients with impaired liver function: the half-life of Dorodipine in patients with hepatic impairment is prolonged, so dose adjustment is required in this subject; There are no specific reports demonstrating the toxicity of the drug in the fetus and nursing infant. However, the drug should still be considered for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

5. Dosage and how to use the drug

How to take Dorodipine:
Take by mouth with adequate amount of water Dosage in adults:
Starting dose: 5mg Amlodipine (1⁄2 Dorodipine tablets) once a day; Maximum dose: 10 mg/day; In patients with hypertension, Dorodipine is used in combination with one or more classes of thiazide diuretics, alpha and beta blockers or ACE inhibitors; For angina, Dorodipine can be used alone or in combination with nitrate derivatives or appropriate doses of beta-blockers. Dosage for the elderly:
The same dose as for adults. Patients with impaired liver function:
Dorodipine should be started at the lowest dose and increased slowly in patients with severe hepatic impairment because slow elimination may cause hepatotoxicity. Dosage in children and adolescents aged 6-17 years with hypertension:
Initial dose: 2.5 mg/day; Maximum dose: 5mg/day.

6. Dorodipine side effects

The unwanted effects when using Dorodipine are:
