Uses of Magnevist

2. Dosage and usage of the drug Magnevist

The dose of Magnevist is 0.2mL/kg. If a lesion is suspected despite a normal contrast-enhanced MRI, an additional 0.2mL or even 0.4mL/kg injection should be given within 30 minutes of the scan to enhance the diagnosis.

Magnevist is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients in the composition.

4. What are the side effects of Magnevist?

Patients using Magnevist may experience undesirable effects including:
Common: Nausea, vomiting, allergic reactions in the skin and mucous membranes. Patients with atopy are often more susceptible to hypersensitivity reactions than other patients. Rare: Convulsions occurring after injection, transient headache, vasodilatation, dizziness, chills and fainting.
