Uses of Nykob 5mg

1. What is Nykob 5mg? What's the use?


Nykob medicine 5mg is a product manufactured in Greece by Genepharm S.A. The main ingredient of the drug is Olanzapine which is known for its antipsychotic properties with pharmacological activities on multiple receptor systems.
In previously published preclinical studies, Olanzapine had high affinity for serotonin 5HT 2A/2C, Dopamine D 1-4, Muscarinic M1-5, adrenergic alpha 1 and histamine H1 receptors. In particular, this component is weakly bound to GABA, BZD and beta adrenergic.

Common side effects: Weight gain, drowsiness, elevated blood prolactin levels. Common side effects: Eosinophils, high blood lipids, hyperglycemia, Glucoseuria, anxiety, Parkinson's, orthostatic hypotension. Patients also have appetite, dizziness, mild acetylcholine resistance, increased liver enzymes, rash, weakness, fatigue. Uncommon side effects: Leukopenia, bradycardia, thrombosis, photosensitivity, hair loss, urinary incontinence, urinary retention, amenorrhea, breast enlargement. 5. Drug interactions


During the use of Nykob 5mg, the drug may cause some of the following interactions:
The drug may reduce the effect when used with Olanzapine. When the drug is taken with alcohol and other CNS depressants, it can cause a dangerous increase in CNS depression. Nykob 5mg acts on CYP1A2 with the potential to change the bioavailability of Olanzapine, specifically inducers (including tobacco) increase metabolism, inhibitors (Fluvoxamine) increase accumulation in the body. Activated charcoal reduces the effectiveness of Nykob 5mg by 50-60%, so the two drugs should be taken at least 2 hours apart. Drugs that increase the QT interval have an increased risk of cardiotoxicity because olanzapine often causes QT prolongation. 6. How to handle missed dose, overdose Nykob 5mg
