Uses of Prazav
Prazav is formulated in the form of enteric coated capsules with the main ingredient in each tablet being Omeprazole 40mg. So, what is Prazav, how does it work and how to use it?
1. What disease does Prazav treat?
Prazav medicine has the main ingredient Omeprazole, this is a specific inhibitor that works by blocking the enzyme system of Hydrogen-potassium Adenosine Triphosphatase, also known as the proton pump H + K + ATPase of the gastric parietal cells.
Omeprazole acts at the end of the acid secretion process, a single dose of Omeprazole 20mg/day causes rapid inhibition of gastric secretion due to any stimulus. Omeprazole has no effect on acetylcholine or histamine receptors and has no significant pharmacokinetic effects other than on acid secretion. Omeprazole has a long-term, but reversible, gastric acid lowering effect.
After stopping the drug for 5 days, gastric secretion returned to normal, but there was no increase in acid secretion. Endoscopic examination showed that the healing rate of duodenal ulcers reached 65% after 2 weeks of treatment and up to 95% after 4 weeks.
Prazav is indicated in the following cases:
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD); Gastrointestinal ulcers; Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Prazav is contraindicated in the following cases:
People with hypersensitivity to Omeprazol, Esomeprazol; other Benzimidazole derivatives such as Pantoprazol, Lansoprazole, Rabeprazole or any ingredient of Prazav. Note when using Prazav:
Patients with liver dysfunction. Before starting treatment with Prazav, it is necessary to check the benignity of the ulcerative lesions. During treatment, you must not stop taking Prazav on your own, but must consult with your treating doctor before making a decision. Prazav should be used with caution in pregnant and lactating women.
