Uses of Rusartin

Rusartin is made in the form of film-coated tablets with the main ingredient in each tablet being Valsartan 80mg. So what is Rusartin drug and how is it used?

The main ingredient of Rusartin is Valsartan, which is an orally administered active ingredient that has specific antagonistic activity to the angiotensin II (Ang II) receptor.
Valsartan acts selectively on the AT1 receptor, which controls the action of angiotensin II. When the AT1 receptor is inhibited by valsartan, the serum Ang II concentration increases, leading to the activation of the AT2 receptor, the AT2 receptor having a balancing effect with the AT1 receptor.
Rusartin is indicated in the following cases:
Primary hypertension. Congestive heart failure when patients are intolerant to angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs), or in combination with ACEIs when beta-blockers are intolerant. Rusartin is effective in slowing the progression of kidney disease in hypertensive patients with diabetes with microalbuminuria or full-blown renal disease.

Rusartin is to be taken orally, swallow the tablet whole with water, do not chew the medicine. Rusartin can be taken with or without food.
The dose of Rusartin drug should be according to the doctor's prescription, the reference dose is as follows:
For hypertension, use a dose of 80mg/day, the dose can be increased up to 160mg/day, or a diuretic can be added. Heart failure: Use a starting dose of 40mg x 2 times/day, the maximum dose is 80mg - 160mg x 2 times/day in tolerated patients. Note when using Rusartin:
The antihypertensive effect of Rusartin can be achieved within 2-4 weeks. If blood pressure is not controlled, Rusartin can be combined with diuretics or other antihypertensive agents. There is no need to adjust the dose of Rusartin in the elderly. Renal impairment: No dose adjustment of Rusartin is required when creatinine clearance (ClCr) is above 10mL/min. Hepatic impairment: Rusartin should not be used in excess of 80 mg in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment without cholestasis. Children: Rusartin is not recommended for children under 18 years of age.
