3. Dosage of Zincasa

6. Drug interactions

Concurrent use of zinc with iron or calcium reduces the absorption of both drugs; Concomitant use of zinc with Biphosphate (Etidronet, Alendronate, Risedronate); Quinolone antibiotics (Gatifloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Ofloxacin) reduce the absorption of both drugs; Simultaneous use of Penicillamin and zinc salt reduces the effect of Penicillamin; The absorption of zinc is reduced by many substances including food; Zinc forms an insoluble chelate complex when used with tetracycline antibiotics, zinc also inhibits tetracycline absorption, so take 2 drugs at least 3 hours apart. Drug interactions occur that increase the risk of adverse effects and decrease the therapeutic effect of Zincasa.
