Hello,
With the question “Do hepatocellular adenomas have to be treated? ", the doctor answered as follows:
Hepatocellular adenoma is a benign lesion. If the size is small, there are no complications, you can follow up periodically. Complications can include large tumor growth pressing intrahepatic biliary tract, necrotic tumor rupture and a small percentage turn malignant. Periodic monitoring is therefore very important. Methods of tumor removal include surgical excision or embolization to destroy the tumor. For more specific advice, you need to see a specialist in hepatobiliary surgery to evaluate and choose the most appropriate treatment plan.
If you still have questions about the treatment of hepatocellular adenoma, you can go to a medical facility under Vinmec Health System for early examination and treatment. Thank you for trusting and sending questions to Vinmec. Wishing you lots of health.
Best regards!
