Tinnitus on one side with no known cause, what to do?

Ask
Hello doctor. I have had tinnitus in my right ear for more than 1 year now, often at night when I go to bed, I hear alcohol in my ears. I went to many doctors, but no disease was found. After reading Vinmec's diagnostic method, I found that all the places I have examined have not received magnetic resonance imaging or skull scans. So the doctor gave me advice what should I do? Thank you doctor!

Hello. Tinnitus is a problem with many causes, it can be caused in the ear (outer ear, middle ear, inner ear) or other systemic causes (cervical spondylosis, lipid metabolism disorders, etc.) diabetes, stress, sleep disorders).
In addition, there are some tumor pathologies such as: Tumor VIII, cerebellar pontine tumor, neurological diseases. If one-sided tinnitus persists, a cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan can be performed to rule out dangerous causes.
Thank you for your question to Vinmec Health System. Best regards.
